The question was about would your life get worse if you believe it. I think you have a hard time understanding the mindset of those who truly believe it. If they repent and ask for forgiveness they are forgiven so why would they be in terror?

I'm agnostic but I had a totally different experience than you growing up. I questioned it all and had a difficult time accepting the stories I was told due to many factors including but not limited to the multiple translation issue.
The question was just about how your life would be any worse. Not sure if you've met a lot of true believers but they seem pretty happy to me 🤷♂️
