Enshittification
Has anyone noticed how bad subtitles are getting lately? My wife and I watched a film the other night, we often use subtitles even on English language films as the kids are so loud, and it was like the subtitles were from an entirely different film. Everyone had wildly different names every few minutes, the conversations were way off, it was crazy. And I'm watching a Finnish crime show now, entire words are missing and even with my rudimentary Finnish I can tell that some of the translations are not what they said. Everything is just a little bit shitter every year.
On a positive note I found a pirated copy of Elf on a usb, so Christmas is sorted.
