If this was at 5:30pm, I believe that I said yes and qualified that it was 'fine now' (aka after five pm), but that is was a 'bit strong in an enclosed space' when you had first gotten in the car.

I said that when you had first gotten in the car (approx. 2:30pm) that I had needed to open the windows when you first got in my car. Which I literally did do when you got In, I cracked front and rear windows.

And you explained something about time and cologne and etc around 5:30pm and I had agreed. Strong can be good hours later, even if the top smell is too strong
