For a long time now, it's been the case that you can do a lot of work to arrive at a nuanced, fact-based policy position, or you can look at the policies conservatives demand and do the exact opposite.
Doing that exact opposite is probably not precisely as optimal policy as what an hypothetical ideal human of good will and vast ability with arbitrary time and resources could achieve, but it's really quite close. And it's right there and extremely low effort.
