Just as a counter, ive eaten low carb for a long time now, currently basically on carnivore, and my cholesterol is exceedingly high. Doctors always gasp. So carbs aren't necessarily what causes high cholesterol. But on the flip side, having "high" cholesterol isnt really cause for alarm unless youre living in crazy fiat world. Its just a story drug companies use to get doctors to sell their statins.
