it's interesting that the graph displayed seems to suggest the long waits problem started around 2012, about the same time as the decline in mortality rate stalled, and life expectancy stopped rising as fast as it had. The are probably connected, and I wonder what could have changed in 2012/13 to create such a major impact on trends that go back to Victorian times...
Any one remember austerity. It's manta was bailing out the rich by making human sacrifices of the poor population?
