GM, an analogy for the layman:
Bitcoin is the study of a single block of time, like examining one frame of a film, the smallest unit of change that can exist.
Quantum mechanics is the study of the film itself, the dynamical behavior of many frames stitched together. Splice enough frames past the threshold of perception and motion appears continuous, like a wave.
Both are studies of time. Bitcoin studies the fundamental unit of time; quantum mechanics studies the large-scale behavior of many such units once they are in motion and perceived as fluid.
The wave is not fundamental.
It is what appears when discrete blocks, single frames, are spliced together and viewed at scale.
