If you have an uncontaminated bucket, you can catch the uncontaminated rain and put it into Gatorade bottles. For storage, I'm not sure how long it'll stay like that. I try not to drink roof water here.
I will also tell you that you can use a tarp. You will only be able to leave this tarp up when you're catching rain and you must also be sure it remains uncontaminated.
But if you have a clean tarp and you channel the rainwater not from a roof but from just the tarp and to said clean bucket. You can then take this and again store it further in bottles.
Again, just drinking from bottles. Will eventually contaminate them. It's rather complicated. Actually not getting dysentery that's what I learned from playing video games.
If you want to make damn sure you can just boil it afterwards.
There should be nothing wrong with it though if it goes straight from the sky.
I mean can't be worse than tap water if that's how it is here.
