99.9% of the time that someone says to a veteran "thank you for your service" it seems so forced and I've noticed that most of the veterans just hand wave it anyway. I don't think most veterans want to be praised. I could be wrong that's just what I've noticed
Veterans feel free to give your input, maybe I'm wrong here.
