Not just that they want to be movies, they want to be a marketable logo that can be put on t-shirts and sold. 99% of the supposed "indie" comic creators I see these days make a "shared universe" before they even write a single story or character, and they release comics that have no story or characters but they think have something that would look great on a t-shirt (but it still doesn't because it's all gay retarded faggot shit, plus it's fucking gay).
All of them think that getting a movie deal comes with that, of course, and that they hope someone with actual talent/skill will come along and practically beg to write the movie version for them. They think their ideas are so good that OTHER people will smell money off them and do all the real work.
