My father is retired. After some bad storms and power blinks at his house yesterday, bitlocker locked him out of his computer.

Three email recovery codes. Roughly 30-character passkey for bitlocker recovery. PIN is now, somehow, invalid and needs to be setup again (that was the third email).
I spent over an hour jumping through hoops because of a thunderstorm.
