thinking about the time my dad explained to me how he takes short screen time breaks every 45 minutes and how he uses KTeaTime to do it.

my autistic ass fucking loved the concept. it was so easy for him to sell me on the idea. i excitedly started practicing healthy screen time habits.

there was a good chance it'd stick, too.

and then my mom noticed, asked me what's up, and decreed that actually the breaks should be 1:1 as long as the time spent looking at the computer.

so, that's how my dad's brilliant parenting idea immediately went down the drain, teaching me instead how to manipulate the data and competently pretend I'm doing as they say.
