What my grandmother made

- stale bread
- soak in milk for a second
- soak in eggs for half a second
- bake in pan (with butter)
- eat with sugar or jam

In Dutch there are several names for this, I mostly say "lost bread", like "pain perdu" in French, though in English it's called "French toast".

But my grandmother called it "klakoars" in her dialect and that will forever be its true name for me. It's just too bad I won't be understood if I say this :)
