Justified is the wrong framing. It's not "justified," it's a choice. That choice might well be the product of prior bad choices we made, but the present circumstances are the present circumstances. We might face better choices had we not made catastrophically bad ones in the past. And still the choice to initiate regime change now might be catastrophic. Or it might be warranted. We won't know until the results are in.
