I think it is important to realize that these marchers do not come out of nowhere. There is an actual pan Western crisis facing all of us, it is just that not everyone responds the same to it.
The Ponzi games of neoliberalism are nearing their terminal phase. Much of "growth" has been driven by leverage driven money creation and been poured into virtual resources, that have been hoarded by the rich.
The twenties of the 20th century went into this crisis as well.
