I'm not sure how that is hostile. There is a workaround provided, and it looks like people have looked into the problem.

It mainly sounds like there was no real interactive communication happening, so it's all in the issue. It could probably be resolved by two people in a room or video conference where one can build fwupd versions and one can produce the issue and has an idea what is the ideal way of handling it.
