I've had a few cases now where somehow the + is being added to the beginning of a number that didn't have it before [ so +1 (000) 000-0000 instead of 1 (000) 000-0000] and that's causing both instances of Messages to try to make a new contact. I've asked if the person has changed it and they say no.
