In Texas my wife and kids would get $1100/mo in food stamps. The kids are worth $2k/yr cash money in refundable tax credits and having them also qualifies me for EIC. I would go from a $10k return to a $2k liability and since my union employer pays for a pretty good healthcare plan medicaid is useless to me.
