A lot of white folks on here like my takes about technology and the direction of the fedi and all that and that’s cool. I like talking about that stuff.

What a lot of white people don’t realize and are made uncomfortable by when they find out is how a lot of my thoughts are informed by radical Black politics.

Not liberalism. Not leftism. Not Marxism.

But rather the rigorous scholarship of brilliant minds that had to navigate the horror and ugliness of unchecked hate and colonialism. The people that gave their blood and bones to give us the information and context we needed to survive the madness of white supremacy.

I push hard because what I do is built on the knowledge and experiences of people that sacrificed their lives to get and pass on.

I’m not here to build a brand or get a cool tech job or even to be liked (although I hope you do. I’m actually pretty cool).

I’m here to try to use my skills and talents to contribute to us getting free.

That thought is a core reason why I am still here.
