BITMEX TO SHUT DOWN AFTER 11 YEARS
Arthur Hayes-founded crypto exchange BitMEX announced it will permanently cease operations on September 23 at 04:00 UTC following a strategic review.
New user registrations have ended, and existing users are being urged to close positions and withdraw funds before the deadline.
At its peak, BitMEX processed $16 billion in daily trading volume and over $1 trillion annually.
Hayes and his co-founders stepped down after facing U.S. criminal charges in 2020.
