I love my Kobo H2O. Got one for both children, one of whom reads ferociously, and is very happy with it. My wife has a smaller version, which she is very happy with.
Important caveat: we all have a cover w magnetic lid, which not only looks great, but also protects the ebook. No issues here with breakage
