In my ideal system, they'd abolish the realtime debates entirely. They're purely performative and are in no way a good process for evolving legislation. All laws would be discussed in an online forum where MPs could leave comments and have them addressed, in a process more like code review. Once 50% of MPs have hit approve, the law is passed. Changes invalidate prior approvals.

The review system should be publicly readable, so anyone can observe the law taking shape and write to their MPs with specific issues related to the text.
