#TTRPG mechanic idea for quick combat:
Characters have various methods of attack (bow, fists, fire magic). Each has a die (D4, D12...).
Every creature has a defensive die (D6, D20...).
In each round of combat, each creature rolls an offensive die, adding to their side's power. The side with the least power takes damage. Each creature rolls the defensive die: if it's a 1, that creature is incapacitated.
Repeat until one side is wholly incapacitated. Winning side restores their incapacitated.
