When you live surrounded by woods and marauding deer, there is no tick repellent that truly works. The ticks awaken throughout the winter the moment temperatures rise above freezing. By spring they are battle ready and hungry. They jump at life. They suck at life, literally. Chemical sprays don't fool them for long. Natural remedies do little. How can we stop them? Can we make them fear us somehow? Can we make them loathe our company? My personal war on ticks has gone on for many years. Maybe one day I can outsmart this symbolic enemy. Until that day, I remain vigilant and without mercy.
