Get your daughter some self defense lessons or better yet get some light gear and teach her how to punch and kick and defend herself.
It can be a bonding thing as well as conducive to your peace of mind knowing she can handle herself if/when she needs to. That was perhaps you will be more confident and reassured that it will be less likely for you to feel the need to become that over protective in a knee jerk fashion, knowing in the back of your mind that she's more likely to hurt them then the other way around.
