The same is true for nuclear power. It gets better all the time, and there is still a lot of untapped potential for small (e. g. better fuel usage, designs, materials, processes) and big (e. g. alternative fuel cycles, recycling) improvements.

Nuclear heat can also be used directly, e. g. district heating or industrial use.

It is needed, just as much as every other mostly clean energy source.
