I wonder about the consistency though. Sure snapshots are atomic, but that doesn't mean the application state is consistent on disk. I'd highly doubt every service can easily survive unclean shutdown, especially when there's high traffic (I back up at night, so everything should be mostly calm) and databases are involved. I hate databases. I read postgresql for example is "consistent on disk" but then again also other warnings...
