Maybe the whole pricing thing will just blow over, the console and games will sell fine, and everyone will accept it eventually.
But I can see an alternative universe where existing Switch owners hold off on upgrading for a while. Heck, Metroid Prime 4 and Pokémon Z-A are brand new games that are coming to both systems. And many of the games announced for the Switch 2 are just upgraded re-releases of titles that are already available on the Switch.
