Our local bird store recommended changing the water to sugar ratio in the food that we mix from 4 - 1 to 3 - 1. They say it'll help the hummers build their energy reserves in preparation for their migration. I have visions of hummingbirds on a sugar high !

I am not at all sure what the local hummers are, Ruby-Throated, perhaps ?
