Evening, Toots. Looong day. (This will be in several separate posts.)
I had to go to (gulp) the big mall, otherwise known as Grump Mental. My wristwatch had developed a strange intermittent fault - stopping and restarting - and I’d only had a new battery put in three months ago. So first stop was having someone check that - apparently no, battery tested ok, so he said if it keeps happening, maybe it’s the workings of the watch (well, yes.) No probs, I say, I know I lovely horologist in Sydney. Oh, he’ll see you right. No, SHE will, I said. He blushed and said “Well, it takes attention to detail and skill..” He couldn’t backpedal quickly enough! Poor man. But a nice bloke. Next stop, a new watch band - I have big wrists, and it seems leather watchbands just aren’t as popular an item as they once were, so my size is becoming a rare thing. Who knew that watchbands would go the way of the horse and cart, huh?Melissa BearTrix (npub1pr2…j95v)
