I write using a plain text editor (adding limited Markdown as appropriate), with files hosted in my Nextcloud site so I can use whatever text editor is available wherever I may be. If I'm at home on my desktop, that will be Geany.

I use a private wiki for organizing my notes.

I've experimented with other tools but always come back to these basics, which offer fewer frills and fewer bugs and poor-design annoyances.
