I don’t necessarily disagree, I know some zoomers that are more respectful than people from my generation and that’s because of their upbringing. However, you can’t really argue that we don’t communicate the same today as we did even twenty years ago. My roommate and I talk about this all the time, or should I say, text. I very rarely talk to people on the phone anymore, most communication is done through text or a social networking platform.
As a kid, if I got lippy with someone I usually went home with a fat one, lol. Not that I am condoning violence, but you can’t really disagree that it’s a life lesson that teaches you to treat others with respect or there may be consequences for your actions. Unfortunately, because most of their interactions are on the internet, they don’t get that life lesson and if they don’t have parents to teach them otherwise, they start to think it’s ok to talk to people as they see fit.
