For the sake of our friendship, I should be fully transparent: I did play Zero Mission, but never fully beat it. I messed up badly and killed RetroArch instead of closing it cleanly and that wiped my save, because it hadn't been written to the SD card yet. 😬
I was in the part that everybody keeps saying is the worst part of the game, where Samus is without her armor, so I played most of the game.
I've since found the setting in RetroArch that regularly flushes saves to the SD card and I feel much safer now. Nevertheless, I try to shut it down cleanly whenever I can. 😅
