Whole Foods grocery delivery used to pack cartons of eggs so carefully they could survive a 50 foot drop test, but now they just throw them straight in the bag under your cans of beans.
I assume some Amazon team ran the numbers and discovered that it was much cheaper to refund broken eggs than use better packaging.
