Sounds like the abscess was probably there for a long time if it was impacting his heart. Probably should have happened faster, but also might have taken him in his sleep if it was leaking infection into his body over an extended period.
Infected butt abscess has got to be an awful way to go. Ingrown hair>don't maintain hygiene>abscess>death
