I made a mad dash (before the storm hits), to Nashville to go to the SPBGMA (bluegrass) conference and shop for a banjo.
Michael Cleveland is here, and I suppose some other heavy hitters.
I bought a huber workhorse with speed neck (no finish) and radiused fingerboard. Huge upgrade from my ancient deering.
My chops are not up to a much jam session action, but who knows bluegrass folks ARE snobs, but not to other musicians in person. In that setting they are very supportive.
