Hey, I just watched this yesterday. I really enjoyed this. He said a lot of thought-provoking things there.
I think there are two different definitions of quality here, though. I was thinking more about fidelity: photos taken with today's technology can record color/lighting/detail more accurately than, say, a photo taken with a Polaroid in the 1970s.
Rick sounds like he's discussing artistic quality: the actual craftsmanship of the music, not just the fidelity of the recording.
