My favorite new homebuyer horror story is the crew working on the house would just piss in the dirt in the unfinished basement so the soil was fully saturated and then it got concrete it over with a self leveling floor but since concrete is porous the piss stink was permanent in the basement. So the entire floor had to be broken up and about a foot of soil underneath had to be excavated all on the homeowners dime.
