When programming, I really enjoy refactoring, cleaning unused code, unit testing.
Unfortunately in many projects those practices often are afterthoughts and get easily excused with reasons like "but they are not paying us for that".
To which I respond with the question whether you pay the cook in a restaurant to sharpen his knife?
