Incidentally, the general decline of search engines means finding out about the death of Ivan Illich is a pain because they assume you want to know about Tolstoy's story The Death Of Ivan Ilyich which in fact I do not, I wish to know about how noted philosopher and priest Ivan Illich died.
(Actually I do know, but I wanted a reference, it's ok you don't need to tell me. He had a cancer on his face but refused to get it treated because of his beliefs about modern medicine.)
