to be clear, Israel has the right of responding to violence, as long as the response is proportional to the offense. Right now the ratio of casualties is about ten Palestinians for each Israeli one, and 1 out of 4 Palestinian casualties is a minor: things stopped being proportional and balanced a while ago already.

I can only see one reason why Israel has interest in maximizing civilian casualties (and minors in particular) so much, while strongly opposing any human corridors or calls for ceasefire, and while making sure that even food and water can't get into Gaza: that reason is called planned genocide.

And of course, historical reasons run very deep. Starting with the mess that the, British made in that area after the collapse of the Ottoman empire, when they believed that they could just repatriate millions of white Europeans into that strip of land and get away with it. History also passes through the 1967 UN resolution that Israel always refused to abide to. And also through the Oslo accords that Netanyahu has promised to throw out of the window in multiple occasions. And also through the two-State solution that Netanyahu has worked hard to confine to the oblivion. And also through the peace process initiated by Rabin, a peace process that Netanyahu tried to derail with all his energy, while stoking hate against peacemakers, that eventually culminated with Rabin's murder by the hand of an orthodox Jew.

This isn't Hamas propaganda. This is history that had already been written and extensively documented long before this war started.
