Any realistic discussion of the #Humanities labour market needs to start with throwing out the "transferrable skills" argument.
You want to argue for academic training in Modern Latvian Poetry? Then you need to make a case for the *specific content* unique to those programmes. Because in countries with a lot of #highered there's a specific uni programme for each job. Those employers don't need to settle for someone with 80% irrelevant poetry analysis and 20% transferrable skills.
