No, they don't mix well. They hinder each other.

Nuclear is already damn expensive. And it gets worse when the plants can't run at full capacity, as the lifetime of the plants is limited. Plus fluctuations in power output increase wear and maintance.

The grid structure changes required for both are also somewhat different (more large unidirectional power lines vs a more flexible grid for renewables.)
