oh, and my class doesn't start until April, but we have to submit syllabuses by end of this month. The office goes through them looking for various administrative bits (which are more automated now than they used to be as the syllabus system has more separate fields that must all be filled in than it used to). They don't evaluate content at all.
Then syllabuses are published to students sometime between end of the month and start of classes
