For decades folks have been pushing back on the myth that presidents will act with restraint when we erode checks on the executive branch:
1) presidents have always abused that power to some degree and 2) all it takes is one fucking guy to really show you why it's a bad idea to erode the checks on executive power and oh look here's that one fucking guy.
