Handguns got banned in 97 that's true. But even then you could only own them for target practice.
Long guns and semi- automatics got banned in 86 after Hungerford. Again only used for target shooting.
Carrying for the purpose of self defence has been banned since at least the early 1900's, not sure on the actual date, along with the licensing requirement.
But the sentiment is true. Goverment should fear its populs not the other way round. And that we won't fight (there are other more peaceful ways to topple Goverments that should be used first) or can't fight, to restore our constitution is deeply troubling... 😒😒
