the robust long term answer to his claim, would simply be to open consular offices in European countries where asylum seekers could apply, and offer them tickets on a ferry from Calais at cost. So long as they report to the ship's office on boarding and to immigration with their certificate from the consular office on arrival at Dover. Since they observed the rules they could be fast tracked to get clearance, especially if they are from an unsafe country....
