It would bea good idea to eventually have a bootable USB with a Linux distro on it.
The most challenging part is getting the BIOS to boot to USB first. Many Linux distros are "GUI forward", and don't require CLI hacking unless you need something special, or anything to do with a printer 🤣
Some distros are made just for USB-use-only.
