the other part of this is that humans are social primates not lone predators. Evolution did not optimise us to be the perfect fit for every situation we encounter as individuals, we're adapted to live in groups where we all have different skills and specialisations so the whole group is able to deal with more different scenarios than an individual could. This has now gone a bit wrong when the society we've created needs us all to fit one mould for success
