This is absolutely true especially on the scientific progress front. Most of what exists today are mainly iterations of 19th to early 20th century technologies. Some say most of the hard problems have solved and the problems yet to be solved are either impossible or will only be cracked by AI + quantum computers. lol! Both lazy and untrue opinions if you ask me. The real issue is cowardice and credentials that have replaced real proof of work and have also become a mechanism for gatekeeping which is sad as society continues to regress as a result.
